Product Use & Safety

From Cody: read this before your first session. I'd rather answer a question than hear about an injury.

What these handles are — and aren't

The Phoenix Line is training equipment for grip, wrist, and forearm strength, designed for armwrestlers and adult strength athletes. They are not medical or rehabilitation devices, and no claim is made that they prevent injury, treat any condition, or improve performance for any particular person.

Before you use one

Inspect the handle before every session. They are 3D-printed — look for cracks, layer separation, or deformation, especially at the strap or pin attachment. If you see any damage, stop using it and get in touch.

Confirm your strap, loading pin, or cable attachment is rated for the weight you intend to use and is properly secured. [Recommended maximum load per handle — Cody to confirm.] Train on a stable surface with room to drop the weight safely.

Using them

Warm up. Start light. Add load gradually over weeks, not sessions. These movements load the fingers, wrist, and elbow in positions most gym equipment doesn’t. If you feel sharp pain, numbness, or tingling — stop. Soreness is normal; pain is not.

Do not use a handle for a purpose it wasn’t designed for — hanging, climbing, pull-ups, or body-weight loading — unless the product page says it’s suitable.

[Per-handle technique guidance — Cody’s words, added before launch.]

Who shouldn't use them

Anyone under 18 without adult supervision. Anyone with a current hand, wrist, forearm, or elbow injury, or recent surgery, without clearance from a physician. If you’re new to strength training, work with a coach.

Care

Keep handles out of direct sun and heat (car interiors, hot garages) — printed plastics soften and weaken. Clean with mild soap and water; no solvents. Retire a handle at any visible wear. They are inexpensive; your tendons aren’t.
